Connect Mailchimp
Adds everyone who signs up or enquires on your site to a Mailchimp audience.

01What it does
- Rules: subscribe a person to an audience
02What you need
- API key — kept encrypted, never shown again. Account → Extras → API keys. The bit after the dash is your region.
- Region. The suffix of your API key, e.g. us21.
03Connect it
- In Mailchimp open Profile → Extras → API keys → Create A Key, and copy it.
- Note your region: the part of the key after the dash (e.g. us21).
- In your site → Manage → Integrations, choose Mailchimp, paste the key and the region, and press Connect.
- Find your Audience ID: Audience → All contacts → Settings → Audience name and defaults.
- Open the Rules tab in your site → Manage → Integrations, choose an event (e.g. "Form submitted") and pick an action from this tool. The fields are pre-filled from the form; glance, then save. Paste the Audience ID into the rule.
04Check it works
- The card shows Working.
- After a test signup, the person is in Audience → All contacts as Subscribed.
05If it does not work
- 404 on every call — The region does not match the key. Use exactly the suffix after the dash.
- 400 Member Exists — That email is already on the audience — nothing to fix.
- Person is Pending, not Subscribed — The audience has double opt-in on; they must click the confirmation email.
