Connect Telegram
Your own Telegram bot sends you — or a group — a message on every enquiry.
Updated 2026-11-02
01What it does
- Rules: send a message
02What you need
- Bot token — kept encrypted, never shown again. Message @BotFather → /newbot. It looks like 123456789:AA…
- Chat ID. Your user or group ID (a number, negative for groups), or @channelname.
03Connect it
- In Telegram, message @BotFather, send /newbot, and copy the bot token it gives you.
- Send your new bot any message (or add it to your group), so it is allowed to write to you.
- Find the chat ID: message @userinfobot for your own ID; for a group, add @RawDataBot briefly and read chat.id (it starts with -100).
- In your site → Manage → Integrations, choose Telegram, paste the token and the chat ID, and press Connect.
- Open the Rules tab in your site → Manage → Integrations, choose an event (e.g. "Form submitted") and pick an action from this tool. The fields are pre-filled from the form; glance, then save.
04Check it works
- The card shows Working.
- A test rule run posts the message in your chat.
05If it does not work
- 403 bot can't initiate conversation — Open the bot and press Start (or add it to the group) before it can message you.
- 400 chat not found — The chat ID is wrong — group IDs are negative and usually start with -100.
