Add File Upload Forms to your site
A form where visitors send their name, email, a message and one attached photo or PDF. The file is stored privately — only you can open it, from Submissions.
Updated 2026-11-02
01What it does
- As its own section on the page it is placed on (the home page unless you choose another).
- Studio → Submissions (the attachment opens from the submission)
02What you need
- Section title (optional)
- What to attach (optional). Shown above the file picker, e.g. "Floor plan" or "Prescription".
- Send submissions to (email) (optional). Each new submission is emailed here, in addition to your account inbox.
03Connect it
- In Studio → ⋯ → Widgets → File Upload Forms, switch it on.
- Optionally set a "Section title" and "What to attach" (e.g. Floor plan, Prescription) — that is the label above the file picker.
- Choose whether the "Attachment" is Required or Optional.
- Optionally fill "Send submissions to (email)" — each submission is emailed there in addition to your account inbox.
- Save, then Publish — widgets go live with your next publish, not before.
04Check it works
- On the live site, pick a small image or PDF — the note under the picker changes to "Attached." — then send the form.
- Open Studio → Submissions: the new File submission has an "Open the PDF" or "Open the photo" link.
05If it does not work
- "That file could not be uploaded" — Only raster images and PDFs are kept (no Word, SVG or ZIP files), and there is a per-file size limit — the message under the picker says which.
- "This site is receiving too many files right now" — Each site accepts about 100 attachments a day, and each visitor a few an hour, to stop scripts filling your storage. It clears on its own.
- Works on the live site but not in the downloaded ZIP — A ZIP export has no CurateOne backend, so nothing is uploaded or sent from it.
